Marvin Christopher Henry Moormann, age 91 of Manhattan, Kansas, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan.

He was born on September 15, 1922 in the Strawberrry Township in Washington County, Kansas, the son of John and Martha (Pruser) Moormann. He was presented to the Lord in Holy Baptism on September 17, 1922 by Rev. P. Stolp. After receiving instructions in the Christian religion, he was confirmed on March 21, 1937 by Rev. P. Stolp at Immanuel Lutheran Church

Marvin entered the Navy in September of 1944. He served overseas from June 1945 until December 1945 aboard an aircraft carrier as a machinist. After his discharge in June 1946, he farmed west of Linn. He also managed the lumber yard in Palmer for 23 years, then moved to Manhattan where he worked at the Manhattan Public Library for 22 years...
